Honorary Event Chair: Lacie Lowry
You can watch Lacie Lowry weekdays on News 9 this morning from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. Oklahoma has become a beloved second home for Lacie. She spends much of her time outside of television working with nonprofits and serving on various community panels. In her downtime, Lacie loves to play softball and volleyball with her News 9 coworkers, watch the OKC Thunder and be outdoors with her rescue dog. *Special Event Sponsors are critical to Rebuilding Together OKC’s fundraising success and provide an excellent way to enhance your support for the community! Sponsorships offer various tiers of sponsor recognition – all with marketing benefits – including product/information distribution, social media announcements, signage, and speaking opportunities at the kickoff event. For more information contact Ashley Combs at firstname.lastname@example.org or 405.607.0464.
Is this a women-only event?
No! In 2016, 73% of the homes repaired by Rebuilding Together OKC were owned by women, 90% of which were women of color. This is why we’re partnering with Women Lead Oklahoma to highlight the importance of women taking leadership roles in making a difference for themselves and other women in the communities in which we live. So in short, all are welcome to participate but we’re inviting women to step up and lead the pack!
How old do I need to be to volunteer?
Age 14 and older.
Is workshop attendance required for She Builds OKC event participation?
While not required, it’s highly encouraged that you attend. We promise it will be a good time!
Does this cost anything?
Volunteering is free, as it should be. However, we’re challenging every participant to raise $250 through the She Builds CrowdRise campaign! Every dollar is a commitment to Rebuilding Together OKC’s revitalization efforts provided year-round at no cost for neighbors in need.
You want me to raise money?
Yes, please. Hear us out! Setting up a CrowdRise profile is super easy and we’ve got tips and tricks to assist in your fundraising efforts along the way. No matter where you end up, we guarantee that when all of the She Builds OKC donations are combined, a huge impact will be made in the community we all hold so near and dear. P.S. since incentives never hurt anybody, raise the most and you’ll win a super pack of goodies from local businesses!!!
What’s the deal with team vs. individual sign-up?
Signing up as a team ensures you’ll be placed at the same site as your besties, co-workers, or crew. However, please note that every volunteer, team or no team, needs to go through the same individual sign-up process. If you would like to create a team for you and your squad fill out the form below and we’ll make it happen!
